Background: Learner satisfaction is a key indicator of training quality and institutional competitiveness in higher education. However, empirical evidence on the determinants of satisfaction among pharmacy learners in Vietnam’s private university sector remains limited. This study aims to identify determinants of learner satisfaction with the quality of pharmacy education at a private university in Vietnam and to compare satisfaction between current students and alumni.
Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in 2024, including 315 valid responses (109 current students; 206 alumni) at Thanh Do University. Data were analysed using Cronbach’s alpha, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), multiple linear regression, and the independent-samples t-test.
Results: Four determinants were identified: Training Programme (TP) (β = 0.477), Institutional image and reputation (IIR) (β = 0.442), Faculty and support staff (FSS) (β = 0.365), and Facilities and learning resources (FLR) (β = 0.338). All showed positive and statistically significant associations with overall learner satisfaction. The model explained 66.7 percent of the variance in satisfaction. Alumni reported significantly higher satisfaction than current students (mean ± SD: 3.54 ± 0.62 versus 3.16 ± 0.72; Cohen’s d = 0.582; p < 0.001).
Conclusion: Private pharmacy education providers should prioritise improving Training Programme (TP) quality. Feedback from students and alumni supports continuous quality assurance and accreditation compliance.
